Feather Stroke Eyebrow Tattooing

Feather Stroke Eyebrow Tattooing is regarded as the most natural style of cosmetic eyebrow tattooing. It has been proven to deliver completely natural-looking eyebrows when blended with existing hair or none at all. The Feather Stroke Eyebrow technique uses a hand tool to create strokes that mimic real eyebrow hair and can be tailored to suit your personal preferences. Whether you want to completely remodel the shape of your eyebrows or just want to add some subtle colour, feather stroke tattooing is the option for you.

Different Skin Types

The longevity of Feather Stroke Eyebrow Tattoos can depend on the individual skin type of each client. Typically, Feather Stroke Eyebrows can last anywhere between 8-18 months. People with drier skin tend to hold onto the pigment more effectively than those who have an oilier complexion. If you are someone who regularly uses “active” ingredients in your everyday skincare routine, your tattoo may fade faster than normal.

The Procedure

Before your treatment, you will be asked to complete a consent form and an anaesthetic cream will be used to numb the area to ensure you don’t experience any discomfort throughout the procedure. To ensure you get the best result, we recommend bringing some images that represent the style of eyebrow you are wanting. We will commence by designing the start, arch and tails to clearly represent the end shape we intend on creating for you.

Numbing cream is continually applied during the procedure for your added comfort. During the Feather Stroke Eyebrow procedure, you may feel the contact of the “etching” onto the skin which has been described as feeling similar to tweezers being dragged across the skin. Also, some clients have experienced the sensation of needing to sneeze during the procedure. Our artists are all trained in manoeuvring to accommodate to this reaction.

Post Treatment

Immediately after the procedure, the colour will appear to be very dark and rich for the next 48 hours, and will eventually begin to fade away over the following days. Depending on the intensity of colour applied, most clients are comfortable being seen in public 2-3 days after the procedure, if not immediately after. Some of our clients have experienced up to 70% of the colour fading out of the skin in just the first week. For best results, please adhere to the 10-day post treatment guidelines provided to you on the day of your treatment. At MVA, our post treatment guidelines recommend washing your brows twice daily, pat dry with a clean tissue and then apply a small amount of oil. The entire after care pack including instructions, eyebrow cleanser and oil is provided to you on the day of your treatment and is included in the price.

During the healing process, please refrain from using any oils, active ingredients, rich moisturisers or tones on your skin for the 10 days. If you are wanting to wear make-up during this time, please make sure it doesn’t come in contact with your eyebrows and surrounding areas, as this can change the colour of the tattoo or fade the tattoo. When cleansing your face, we recommend using a damp face washer and avoiding your eyebrow area.

Additional Information

For the best results, we recommend a colour touch up every 12 months to maintain the desired colour and defined brow strokes. People with oiler skin types or people using harsh active ingredients on their face have been known to require touch ups more frequently as the pigment will fade at a faster rate.

Unfortunately, we are unable to do any form of cosmetic tattooing on anyone who is pregnant or on blood thinning or acne medications. If you are breast feeding or on any medications that you are not sure about, please contact us for more information. Please do not drink alcohol on the night before, or coffee and energy drinks on the day of your procedure.

For those using cosmetic injectables such as Botox and Fillers, you must not get botox or fillers 2 weeks before or after your appointment.
